Last weekend, we held an open house art exhibition in the last house remaining to buy at Charles Baker Place
Eight of our nine houses in Charles Baker Place, Wandsworth are sold. The last house remaining, our largest five-bedroom family townhouse, played host as gallery cum show home to local residents, art lovers and house hunters in the area. With a fresh new interior palette to reflect the much anticipated British summer, both the house and the art looked fabulous. We have worked with Young Artists Partnership (YAP) on many occasions before because we love to showcase emerging artists work in our properties and naturally, we were keen to invite our friend Talya Stone to comment before the event.
The much-loved parenting blogger Talya Stone of Motherhood: The Real Deal previewed the exhibition and interviewed the women behind YAP; Annabel Seal and Louisa Higgs. Talya has featured on Good Morning Britain, BBC World News, and her writing featured on the front page of Mumsnet.
The open weekend was a great success, with house hunters and art lovers’ interests piqued. We’re pleased to say several of the paintings exhibited were sold over the weekend; if you were one of the buyers, we’d love to see your new acquisition in situ! Send us a photo or tag us on Instagram.
Although the open weekend is over, we are still holding private viewings for those interested in buying Number 1 Charles Baker Place, you can view the specification and floorplan here, or register your interest via our agents or contact form here.
Sneak peak to the interview:
So what exactly is the Young Artist Partnership?
YAP – Young Artist Partnership was founded 7 years ago as a platform supporting young artists. We source unusual venues for pop up shows, mentoring the artists and regularly have a charity link. (Have a look at what’s on here.)
Why is it so important we get behind young art like this?
We believe that in order to find success as a young artist they need to find different marketplaces from the norm to show their work to potential collectors interested in supporting artists starting out and growing their careers.
What artwork can we expect to be showcased?
The artists showing are early career artists having won many awards and their works are in collections across Europe.
